ERIC’S FIRST 5 POEMS - Eric Ponty por Manolis Aligizakisis

 ACCOMPLISHMENT

Things that I strive to accomplish
which my graceful essence can’t erase
mature flower autumn collected
given instigation come next spring

yet seeing through their eyes
keeps my burning heart beating
famine invited where the night sleeps
in cruel darkness nature bestows

I annul the power of visceral
pity alluding, background hidden
branches welcome up from the ground
and spread all over the world

HARASSEMENT

When harassed by the long winter night
reflect on sweat pale face
graceful award of the invincible
the poor clothes you’re wearing

only then ask about his shadow
from days of victory and kingship
to mention everything
but not to lie in the eyes of dawn
external fear, greatness lacking

yet merit will hide in fireworks
when I’ll claim: I am not your slave
pay your debt as night ends

you prove their high virtue
makes grace of lost things
observe, be mindful
of your hreatd beats

ALLUTION

When a moment bends and sadenns time
and the final night covers the flower of day
when I watch strength vanish in a haze
silver of his pale skin

when I gaze the old I in darkness
things that nature gave to the world
passing shadow laced green strenght
go touch the abundant foliage

of his virtue I wonder,
the suffering of a martyr
powers of the world rebuke

against the scythe of the ages fool’s drill
unless the grace faces the alluded.

CERTAINTIES

Certainties I understanding
though I have my doubts
yet I can’t foresee what fate brings
occasional poverty, an epidemic

the next omen I can’t foresee
provide sun in darkness
from under the soil they all come
forecasts and omens of the gods

my eyes all the struggle observe
wraths listed black destination
things that pass and mention nothing

allow yourself time to conserve
successes and fatalities anew
points of needle that end suffering

ROOTS

When I realize that everything’s already gone
I enjoyed that single moment
into which this large margin fades
the phrase of Apollo entry in order

when I see a man working hard
skyscrapers they think heaven to reach
lifting the sap that grossly suffers
the day finally becomes a memory

cosmic legality, fate ubsurd
eternal youth, gaze invincible
when the time does justice to its fate

take your source early at dawn
suffering cruel against the drill
when root makes wise of the one
